While on the Trip Overview screen, tap on the Map Overlays button. 

From here you can turn on Traffic, Weather Radar, Weather Alerts, 3D Buildings, and Places (points of interest). You can also adjust Map Styles  to change the look of the map; from Day to Night, or Satellite view. 

Here, we have chosen the Day view, with Traffic, Weather Radar, and Places.
